Paul Ryan wears his hypocrisy on his sleeve.

So, as we all know, Paul Ryan said during last year's campaign that he regretted his vote to expand Medicare, with its Part D drug benefit.  (Paul Ryan's said a lot of dumb things last year, including his deep admiration for Ayn Rand, only to see Rand's atheism thrown back at him, but that's beside the point.)

So of course, you'd expect a man of integrity to submit a budget that would constrain or repeal this Medicare expansion, right?  Maybe include a proposal that allows Medicare to negotiate group pricing (as the VA does), to lower government and enrollee costs?  Nope.

Now in his third year of being chairman on the House budget committee, Ryan has never submitted a budget to repeal the Medicare expansion.  Instead, he's tried to voucherize Medicare, followed by capping spending on benefits.

According to a 2007 House report (link is to PDF):

"In 2006 and 2007, the Medicare Part D program cost the federal government $47 billion and $49 billion, respectively."
That's no small chump change.

I'm not saying that it makes sense to cut Part D, but I am saying that it makes sense to allow Medicare to negotiate group pricing, which saves both enrollees and the government a significant amount of money.  If it works for the Veteran's Administration why can't it be done with Medicare?

It's such a simple move, yes?

Of course, passing on the easy stuff, Paul Ryan has openly stated that he intends to continue his war on Obamacare by removing funding from the next House budget (as he's done the last two budgets).

Let me tell you where this goes: NOWHERE.

Inept, stubborn, hypocritical, false leader -- words that come to mind.  Ryan's made the House budget process into a piece of demagoguery and dogma, full well knowing the Senate and the President won't have any of it.

Hey Paul Ryan, you LOST.
Get over yourself already.
