The IRS goof (re: Tea Party tax-exempt status) that really wasn't.

The IRS division that oversees tax-exempt groups, announced that a branch in Cincinnati, Ohio had inappropriately flagged groups for additional review, if their names contained the keywords "tea party" and "patriots" included.  Republicans and conservatives howled at how the IRS broke the rules, as if a conspiracy against them.

However, as the IRS' briefing noted, of the 300 groups flagged for additional review of their tax-exempt status, only a quarter of them were related to conservative causes and none of them had their status revoked.  And remember, this was just one office in Cincinnati, not a nationwide problem.

But of course, one prick on the arm and Conservatives are out yelling that they were stabbed in the heart.

Yeah, never mind the widespread efforts of Conservatives to limit voting hours, curtail early voting, and add restrictions to voting, in an effort to disenfranchise minority and elderly voters.  By golly, if 75 Tea Party groups -- can you really call it a group if it has just one person? -- got flagged for an additional review of their tax exempt status, Conservatives demand that heads be chopped!
