You can spot the fanboys online by their fervent insistence that the object of their irrational exuberance will eventually win out, despite evidence to the contrary. This week, it's been all about Windows 8 and Microsoft, all because Microsoft's stock price has hit a 6-year high. I'm sure that with the amount of intellectual property, Microsoft won't go away any time soon, and it has room to expand revenues, especially from the gaming console market. But there's just no evidence that their focus of transition to mobile has worked. To wit: Amazon's best seller list in the category of "Laptops, Tablets and Notebooks".

That's what a Google invasion army looks like.
Just three devices in the top-30, are sporting Windows 8. So much for Microsoft's mobile ambitions with its transition away from the desktop. Ironically, Windows 8 dominates Amazon's the best-seller category of Desktops...well, if you ignore three of the top four desktops (all Macs).
I'm trying to avoid Windows 8, myself. If I build my own computer, I'll be testing out Linux (Ubuntu) with WINE, or simply waiting out the next iteration of Windows OS, unless of course, ChromeOS or Android becomes useful enough for power users.
