Hope you have lots of money saved away...Republicans won't increase debt ceiling.

So, never mind that Paul Ryan's plan would require a decade of higher debt ceiling increases, right?  But more and more Republicans are stating quite clearly, they will not be voting for a debt cap increase.

Rep. Ron Paul has long been advocating the debt cap remain in place and instead, implement drastic cuts.

Last month Rep. Paul Ryan said, "If a bondholder misses a payment... what is more important is you are putting the government in a materially better position to better pay its bills going forward."

Last week, Senator Mike Lee introduced a co-sponsored bill that keeps the debt cap in place; that's 18 total Republican senators essentially saying they won't be voting to increase the debt cap.

Yesterday it was Rep. Peter Roskam who said that Republicans were compromising if they were to increase the debt cap.

Also yesterday, Rep. Michelle Bachmann insisted that the debt cap stay in place, saying, "we have sufficient income coming in."

Today, Rep. John Boehner placed the debt cap issue squarely on Obama, saying, "the debt limit increase is his problem."

And so I go back to what I said over two months ago, Republicans NEVER intended to increase the debt ceiling.  They want their spending cuts, one way or another; either solution to them, is perfectly acceptable.  Wake up, folks...

Republicans don't want a compromise; they want capitulation.
