The birds love Tanner Springs

First it was the hawks that would swoop in and eat the fish that people had stocked the pond on their own with goldfish and other species, then it was the ducks that would come by and test the waters.  This Spring, a blue heron has adopted Tanner Springs as a second home and apparently one duck family has, too.

I came upon this female mallard with a single (sadly just one, possibly due to rats or raccoon?) duckling.

Female duck in the center, a single duckling about 2 feet to her left.
