An adult conversation, Republican edition.

This is how it goes:

In order to avoid having to do the responsible thing and vote to increase the debt cap, they're going to vote to NOT increase the debt cap, and have Obama veto it, in order to allow an increase in the cap.  And Obama would have to follow Republican rules as to how much he could ask for, and when.

Really.  No, I'm serious!

According to the LA Times, Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell said that, "he was compelled to offer an alternative to break through the stalemate and avoid a financial crisis that experts say would come with a first-ever default."

In 2011, Republicans are going to do the responsible thing and avoid taking responsibility for doing the responsible thing.  Or as I call it: An Adult Conversation, Republican Edition.
