As a designer and specialist in construction detailing, I DRAW exactly what I mean. So when I get submittals from subcontractors via the general contractor without a single fucking red mark on it, let alone any signature from the general contractor that he/she did his/her job reviewing his/her own subs' work, I get pissed.
I get even more upset, when the general contractor drops the ball and fails to find mistakes on their subs' work and fails to follow through with my questions about their subs' submittals, that end up affecting the design in the end.
I get outright furious when the general contractor makes up stories about shit, and won't bother to ask others that would be in the know.
Steam starts coming out of my ears and my face turns red angry, when the contractor allows subs to submit products and finishes that are contrary to what was shown in the design documents.
And I hate, absolutely hate contractors that ask stupid questions that are clearly, CYA questions.
I get that nothing goes perfectly in any building construction, but if you choose to ignore protocols that are installed to cut down on errors, you're intentionally screwing up the project and thus, interfering with my design, and I no longer want to work with you on any future project.
That's my rant.
