The Obama reelection team issued an ad the other day, hitting Romney hard for stating in 2007 that, ""It's not worth moving heaven and earth and spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person."
The ad also questioned whether Romney would make the same decision -- to sign off on the order to go in and kill Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan. Recent discussions about the decision, indicates that most advisers were barely leaning towards going in, with numerous unknowns.
Romney hit back, saying casually as a matter of fact, "of course" he would give the order to kill Osama Bin Laden. He suggested that even former President Carter would have given the order -- therein lies proof of how lightly Mitt now sees in the risks of going in. But of course that's not what Romney said in 2007, regarding the possibility of Bin Laden being inside of Pakistan. Two flip flops in one.
Yesterday, Mitt criticized President Obama for politicizing the Bin Laden raid. So to avoid politicizing the Bin Laden raid himself, today Mitt decided to meet up with former mayor of NYC Rudy Giuliani to deliver pizzas to Engine 24, Ladder 5, replete with a pre-planned media announcement and Q/A session over 9/11 and the death of Bin Laden. Just more hypocrisy.
Mitt continues to take a stand on issues which he thinks will score him the most political points at the moment, inconsiderate of the future that forces him to backtrack and parse his own words.
