Google IO 2011 - a mother lode of news.

Engadget's capturing the full Google IO announcements - and there are TONS - but for me, the most intriguing is that Android now has a development kit for.....Arduino!

Why the fuss?  Because it will be the lynch pin that triggers a widespread creation of accessories that are compatible specifically created for Android users, from big companies to self-stylized hackers.  Whatever subject you're majoring in or graduated with, forget it...computer science and industrial engineering is where it's at.

In addition, the other Google announcements according to Engadget:

• Android @ Home -- Android in devices throughout your home;
• Guaranteed timely Android updates with OEM partners;
• Android Market now has movie rentals, and you can rent from Youtube as well;
• Android 3.1 update for Xoom starting today;
• Next Android version is called Ice Cream Sandwich and will integrate tablets and phones, out in Q4;
• Google TV will be Android 3.1 with Android Market access;
• Android is growing, not slowing, now with 400K daily global activations;
• Google Music allows streaming of your music collection stored in the cloud.
